Sweet & Sour Tofu Ingredients For Tofu :1 block firm tofu (abt 180-200 g)4 tbsp corn starch1/4 tsp salt1/4 tsp ground white pepper1/8 tsp onion powder1/8 tsp garlic powderoil for frying Sauce 4 tbsp tomato paste2 tbsp honey1 tbsp rice vinegar1 tsp cornstarch1/2 tsp salt5 tbsp water Vegetables 1 tbsp oil2 cups red & green peppers (diced)1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)1 cup scallions (chopped) Garnish 1 tbsp sesame seeds (toasted) Steps Drain, pat tofu dry with kitchen towels, cut into 1 inch cubes & set aside.In a bowl, combine cornstarch with salt & the other powders & mix well.Heat enough oil on medium high to shallow fry tofu.Meanwhile, coat tofu cubes in cornstarch mixture, add into hot oil, fry in batches till all sides turn golden brown (flipping frequently)Remove from oil & finish frying the rest.Combine all ingredients for the sauce in a large bowl, whisk & set aside.In a large pan or wok, cook vegetables by heating oil on medium high, add peppers & cook for 1 min.Add pineapple & scallions & cook for 1 min.Add sauce & cook until it thickens (abt 2-3 mins)Add tofu back in, stir well & taste to adjust seasoning.Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds & remove from heat.
