Murgh Choley Ingredients 1 chicken, cut up into 8-10 pieces (1-1.5kg)3-4 cups boiled chickpeas (or 2 cans, drained and rinsed)2 onions, chopped1/4 cup oil2-3 tomatoes, crushed1 tbsp ginger paste1 tbsp garlic paste1 inch cinnamon stick2 large black cardamom6-7 black peppercorns4-5 cloves1/2 tsp turmeric powder1 tbsp cumin powder1 tbsp coriander coarsely powdered1 tbsp red chilli powder1/2 tsp black pepper powder1 tsp dried mango powder1/2 tsp garam masalasalt to taste For Garnish 2 tbsp fresh coriander, choppedGreen chili slicedGinger Julian1/2 tsp dry fenugreek leaves crushed Method Heat the oil and add whole spices cinnamon, cardamom, peppercorns and cloves. Let them cook for couple of minutes.Add the onions and fry until golden.Then add the ginger and garlic pastes, fry for a minute until fragrant.Next, add the chicken and cook until the color changes.Add all the spices and tomatoesCook until some oil begins to get releasedadd the chickpeas with some.Let everything simmer together on very low heat for another 10 minutes.Sprinkle the garam masala, chillies and chopped coriander, ginger, crushed fenugreek leaves.Serve with naan bread, parathas or rice.
