Moussaka Ingredients

2-3 medium sized eggplants- sliced2-3 large potatoes- sliced

For The Meat Sauce

1.5 pounds of ground beef2 onions -chopped3-4 cloves of garlic-minced1/2 jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce1 tbsp of eachSalt, paperPowdered garlicOreganoRosemaryDash of sugar to balance the acidity of the tomato sauce1/2 tbsp of cinnamon and all spice1 tbsp tomato paste

For The Béchamel Sauce

2 cups milk6 tablespoons unsalted butter3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flourSalt, paper and garlic powder(optional)Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese***Parmesan cheese is optional****

Preheat your oven to 370Brush your eggplants and potatoes with olive oil.Sprinkle them with saltRoast the veggies for 30 min or until goldenYou Al an also air fry them or deep fry.The classic recipe calls for frying but I like to roast or air fryMeanwhile, prepare your meat sauceSauté your onions and garlic until translucent.Add your tomatoes paste and sauté for a min.Then, add your sauce and spices. Allow it to simmer for about 15-20 minNow, assemble by layering the potatoes, eggplant, meat sauce then add your béchamel sauce.To make the béchamelMelt your butter, and add your flour. Cook for about a minute.Add your warm milk gradually while stirring. Stir until there is no more clumps. Simmer until thick.
