Ingredients

Dates 1 cup deseeded soaked in 1/2 cup of hot water for 4-6 hoursBrown sugar 1 cuproughly Chopped nuts 1/2 cupEggs 2 largeBaking powder 2 tspButter 1/2 cupFlour 1& 1/2 cupsOrange juice 1/2 cup

For Topping

Corn syrup / jam / maple syrup on the top of cakeExtra chopped nuts 1/2 cup to garnish over the cake

Method

Coarsely Blend dates soaked in hot water for 4-6 hours with the hand blenderWhisk the eggs with sugar for 3-5 min until place and creamyAdd butter also and whisk again for 2-3 MinAdd the dates mixture to it as wellSift the flour , baking powder and add to the wet ingredients mixture and fold with the spatulaAdd orange juice and chopped nuts and mix well with spatulaTransfer to the 6 inches round pan lined with baking paperPre heat the oven @ 180 Celsius for 15 minBake @150 Celsius for 40-45 min until skewer comes out cleanBrush the cake with corn syrup / jam or honey and then garnish with chopped nuts
