Armenian Gata With Puff Pastry Ingredients 2 – 10”x14” sheets of pre made puff pastry dough thawed1 extra large egg, separated1 tbs milk Filling 1 cup granulated white sugar1 cup all purpose flour4-5 tbs room temperature clarified butter1 tsp vanilla Steps Start by making the fillingIn a bowl, combine: sugar, flour and vanilla and give it a quick mixAdd the clarified butterUsing your hands, mix everything well to combine everything until the filling looks like crumbs. Set the filing aside.Divide and cut the puff pastry dough into two even partsBrush the dough with egg whites.Place a few tablespoons of the butter filling on the the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch from the edgesUsing your hands, press and flatten the filing onto the doughFold and roll the dough twice and place it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes then cut into Diamond shape, brush with egg wash (egg yolk milk) and bake at 375 F for about 35-45 minutes until golden.Enjoy!
