Download ImageIngredients3 large yellow onions (sliced)3 leeks (sliced)4 green onions (chopped)4 tbsp butter2 tbsp olive oil3 large eggs150 g Turkish or Greek yoghurt (or crème fraîche/ cooking cream)1 tsp caraway seeds2 tsp fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried thyme)3/4 tsp salt1/4 tsp ground black pepper1 pastry dough (store bought or homemade)1 small yellow onion (sliced into rings for topping, optional)1 green onion (chopped for topping, optional)StepsGrease a 9-inch springform or baking dish.On a lightly floured surface, gently roll out pastry, transfer onto greased baking dish, lightly pressing it to the bottom & up the sides, set aside.Preheat oven to 190 deg C.In a large pan on low heat, add butter & oil.Add both types of onions & leeks, cover & cook for 10 mins.Remove lid & continue to cook, stirring regularly, until onions turn translucent & takes on a light golden colour (abt 30 mins)Remove from heat & set aside to cool.In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, yoghurt, thyme, caraway, salt, & pepper.Add cooled onion mixture & stir to combine.Transfer onion & egg mixture onto the pie crust (if desired, garnish with thinly sliced onion rings)Bake for 35-40 mins or until eggs are set & crust is golden brown.Sprinkle chopped green onions (optional) & serve tart warm, on its own or with a side salad of choice.
