Shakriyeh, also spelled as shakriyah, is a Middle Eastern dish that is popular in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Palestine. It is a comforting and hearty stew made with meat, usually lamb or beef, and small balls of dumplings made with bulgur wheat and ground meat, known as “kibbeh” in Arabic. The stew is typically flavored with a variety of spices, including cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg, as well as onions and garlic.

The dish is traditionally served over a bed of rice or bulgur, and sometimes accompanied by a side of yogurt or a salad. It is a filling and nourishing meal that is perfect for colder weather or when you are craving something warm and comforting. Shakriyeh is a dish that is often made for special occasions, such as weddings or holidays, but it is also enjoyed as a family meal or casual dinner.
