Download ImageSamak Mashwi (Arabic Spiced Fish) Ingredients2 large fish of choice1 lemon (halved)1 tbsp rock saltMarinade2 tsp cumin powder2 tsp coriander powder1 tsp chilli powder1 tsp paprika powder1/2 tsp turmeric powder1/2 dried lemon (grated)1 tbsp onion powder1 tbsp garlic powder2 tbsp tomato paste3 tbsp olive oil5 tbsp lemon juice2 tsp saltStepsCombine ingredients for the marinade in a large bowl & mix well to form a smooth paste.Clean fish thoroughly, make some slits on both sides, sprinkle salt & rub lemon on it to remove any strong fishy smell.Brush marinade all over fish, especially between the slits & inside its cavities, set aside for 30 mins.Preheat oven set on grilling mode at 200 deg C & line a baking tray with aluminium foil.Place fish, arrange lemon slices on top, cook for 10 mins, carefully flip the fish over & cook for another 10 mins.Use a fork to check if fish is cooked through, remove from oven & serve immediately with sides of choice.
